Welcome to The Old Rugged Cross Historic Site's blog. We hope you will visit our web-sites at http://www.the-oldruggedcross.org/ and http://www.theoldruggedcrossfoundation.org/. Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures of the old church where Rev. George Bennard's famous hymn made its public debut in Pokagon, Michigan in 1913.
The church was originally built as a barn in 1862, rennovated as a church in 1876, returned to use as a barn in 1915, and then abandoned for over 80 years. It is currently being restored to its church era condition and appearance.
Please post your comments to let us know what you think of our blog and/or the web-sites or to let us know what your interest is in "The Old Rugged Cross".
